Antique Bronze Japanese Usubata Vase 19th Century. Japanese bottom part usubata of an ikebana container, top piece is missing. However, the bottom is the artistic part! It has a tapered body with decorative cut-outs and inscription. Made of bronze or cast metal, not sure. Inscription reads: Gokencho Ikenobo followed by his decorative signature mark. This was named in the 19th century by the Ikenobo Senkei. Condition is good – age appropriate wear, heavy rustic patina.
